Expanding Your Home and Need AC? Consider Ductless Cooling

Dependable Service Since 1926

The home experts at Bell Plumbing and Heating have been helping people remodel their homes and equip their homes with the right HVAC systems for over 5 decades. One thing we’ve seen over and over with home additions and remodeling is the need to also extend the home’s air conditioning. Not too long ago, expanding air conditioning to a new expansion could add a significant cost to one’s remodeling budget. However, with the advent of ductless cooling, you won’t have to worry about incurring the extra costs of expanding your ductwork to a new addition if you choose to use a ductless system. Why not? We’ll explain more below.

How It Works

As you can tell from the name, a ductless air conditioning system does not need ductwork in order to work. You can also have a ductless system in one part of your home in addition to having a ducted system in the rest of your home.

Ductless systems are fairly straight-forward: they have an outdoor unit very similar to that of a traditional split system AC and indoor blowers that deliver the cool air. You can have up to four blowers per one outdoor unit. The indoor blowers are about 3 feet long and operate independently, giving you the ability to cool your new expansion when you want, and turn off cooling when you don’t. The indoors blowers connect to the outdoor unit via a conduit placed in an exterior wall. The cooling process begins as soon as you turn on a single blower.

Not only should you hire only trained experts to construct your home’s new addition, you should also hire experts for the installation of your new ductless system.
