We are seeking a qualified, experienced, tech savvy kitchen designer with proven kitchen and bath design skills, and mad 20-20 or CAD abilities. The most qualified candidate will also possess an out-of-this-world work ethic and strong organizational habits, proving they can keep up with the needs of 5 outside Remodel Consultants. A background with plumbing fixtures and electrical/lighting is also critical as product sales is a significant part of the position as well. There will be additional opportunities, such as having input on keeping our 8,500 square foot showroom ahead of the latest trends. Candidates with a college degree in interior design, architecture or a designation from NKBA will be given higher consideration, but must be in combination with industry experience.

If you’re a motivated leader energized by the chance to guide and further grow an already dynamic sales organization, this is the job for you. The position reports directly to our President and the job specifications are as follows:

Job Objective:
Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned markets, which currently includes residential Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical Service Call Center, HVAC Installation, Electrical / Lighting Design and Installations, and Kitchen & Bath Remodel with Design Showroom. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients and sales team.

Specific Responsibilities:
· Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
· Responsible for the performance and development of the sales team.
· Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
· Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
· Conducts one-on-one review with the sales team to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and the sales team’s activity performance.
· Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
· Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
· Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by sales team.
· Assists sales team in preparation of proposals and presentations.
· Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
· Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
· Recruits, tests, and hires Sales team based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.

Relationships and Roles:
· Insures that all Sales team meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
· Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
· Sets examples for Sales team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
· Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Sales team to build motivation and selling skills.
· Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
· Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Job Specifications:
· 5-7 years of experience in sales management.
· Home services sales management a huge plus, but not a requirement if candidate possesses other key talents and/or experiences
· Experience with enterprise software solutions and medium to large, complex organizations.
· Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management.
· Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
· Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.

Throwback Thursday with Bell Home Solutions

We recently sent out our Fall 2013 customer newsletter (feel free to sign up here) and we had the opportunity to chat with a long time customer who took the time to elaborate on our “Did You Know” section.

It turns out that we might have misinformed our customers that Franklin D. Roosevelt first worked with Congress to set the official holiday of Thanksgiving as the 4th Thursday to extend the holiday shopping season as depression recovery.

Here is the rest of the story according to Chris C.:

In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln was the first President to officially recognize the holiday as the last Thursday of November.  It continued this way until 1939 when President Roosevelt changed it to the third Thursday of November to allow for more Christmas shopping time during the Great Depression.

(Chris remembers this clearly as he was living in South Dakota where they didn’t agree with the change and the holiday was nationally recognized on the third Thursday and also recognized the traditional 4th Thursday, including the holiday deals not starting until the day after the traditional Thanksgiving date.)

In 1941, Congress declared the official National Holiday of Thanksgiving as the 4th Thursday of the November.

We appreciate hearing from Chris and were even more entertained when he recalled that we had been servicing his Denver Area home since 1958.  He even recalled  the first technician to serve him was Leonard.  After further investigation it turns out that he was most likely speaking about Leonard Bell.

Did You Know….

Leonard Bell was in the 2nd generation of the Bell Family and was a remodeling estimator.  It’s true we have been doing bathroom remodels & kitchen remodels for over 50 years, and this fact will not need a retraction!

News Station Uncovers Unscrupulous HVAC Companies Overcharging in Denver

A local television station recently aired a news feature regarding the heating service and installation industry in the Denver market.  This story, sadly for those of us in a industry that we take great pride  in showed just  how unscrupulous many of our competitors are.  The tactics and flat out lying to customers is nothing short of disgusting and appalling.    Bell Home Solutions Company, a family owned and operated business in Denver since 1926, takes great pride on how their customers are treated. Never in our prestigious history would this type of of “selling” be done.  Bell customers on any service work or installation know up front what the price is going to be, no games, no lying and never any deceit. The price up front to the penny every time a Bell technician does any work In the home.

Bell technicians are union trained and certified and simply the best business. They are not high pressure sales people that are paid on commission. They are there to repair or install only what needs to fixed, to get it done right the first time, on a price the customer clearly understands is for only the work to be done. Bell Home Solutions is Staying Cool in 100 degree Weather

Did you know it hit 100 degrees on June, 11th? For the first time this year it was just over the 100 degree mark and everyone in Denver was feeling the heat. The previous record for June 11th was 95 degrees in 1956, and the earliest date we had seen 100 degree weather was June 14th! This is just the start of what is shaping up to be a very warm summer in the Denver Metro area but don’t fret, Bell Home Solutions has you covered.
