Air Cleaner Types to Consider Installing This Year

Dependable Service Since 1926

Every time you inhale, you’re exposing yourself to millions upon millions of microscopic airborne contaminants. These contaminants include, but are not limited to, dust, pollen, dander, germs, and mold spores. Inhaling large amounts of these contaminants over a long period of time can give rise to allergy attacks, flu and cold symptoms, and even serious breathing issues. If you want to protect against these contaminants, you should consider installing an air cleaner in your home this year. Let’s take a look at a few of the most popular air cleaner types.

Air Filters

Air filters are the simplest, and most popular, air cleaners on the market. They are essentially just a closely-woven fiber mesh, which is stretched across a frame and installed in the ducts of the home. As air flows through the mesh, any contaminants it carries will become trapped in the fibers. Then, the filter just needs to be removed and cleaned to be rid of the contaminants.

Ionization Purifiers

Ionization purifiers release clouds of magnetically charged particles during operation. As contaminants come into contact with these particles, they gain their own magnetic charge. The charged contaminants are then attracted to metal plates inside the purifier, which can be removed and cleaned.

UV Air Purifiers

A UV air purifier is really just a large light bulb, except instead of normal light it gives off ultraviolet radiation. Many different kinds of germs and mold spores cannot withstand exposure to high levels of UV light. As these contaminants come into contact with the light given off by the purifier, they are either sterilized or killed. A UV air purifier helps protect you from infection by killing off many of the infectious agents in your air.
