Here are some potential causes of a lack of hot water:

Sediment Buildup

When sediment builds up at the bottom of a water heater tank, it can work less efficiently and reducing the hot water supply in your home. If your water heater is not providing enough hot water, it may be time to schedule a routine tune-up so that one of our technicians can flush the tank and check for any other issues.

No Power or Fuel

Do you have an electric water heater? If so, make sure it is plugged in all the way. Then check the fuse box for a blown fuse. You may also want to make sure that the thermostat on your hot water heater is at the right temperature. Check your owner’s manual if you aren’t sure. For gas water heaters, make sure that the pilot light is lit and that it is a constant blue flame. Otherwise, you could need a repair.

Leaking Tank

If you have a tank water heater, a leak in the tank could be reducing the hot water supply. Check for signs of water or corrosion. If you see any obvious issues, call for a water heater repair. Most likely, the tank will need to be replaced, but we may be able to prevent further damage the sooner we can get to your home.
